 Students may only receive internship credit after completing the following requirements:

Completion of candidacy

Ninety hours of coursework

In good academic standing

Approved application and approved company

Must have completed 4 of the 5 following classes:

  • Copyright Law

  • Artist Management

  • Music Publishing

  • Concerts and Touring

  • Marketing of Recordings

Attend one of the orientation meetings

 Before doing an internship, you are required to attend one of the orientation meetings. At that meeting, you will learn:

The process of registering for an internship

The process of applying for an internship

The process of finding a company for your internship

How and when to submit all paperwork to pass the course.

How to write a resume, conduct yourself in an interview, and workplace expectations.

Legal regulations, liability, responsibility, and confidentiality policies.

Meeting times are posted on flyers in the mass comm building and generally occur just before priority registration.

You are allowed to attend one of the meetings well in advance of the semester in which you plan to intern.
