Songwriter Extraordinaire

Charlie grew up rebelling from his piano lessons. Instead of reading music, he preferred banging out his favorite pop radio tunes by ear. Spending his early adult life in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he added lyrics to his music to produce "complete songs" on acoustic guitar during and after college at LSU. He shifted from electric to acoustic guitar as a practical requirement of apartment living. During Christmas 1985, Charlie was introduced to another "Tallahassee boy" visiting from Nashville, Tennessee. A month later, Charlie received an invitation to Nashville to co-write and record. Since then, Charlie has made quarterly pilgrimages to Nashville. He has co-written songs for "Music Row" publishers such as EMI and Sony-Tree. He has performed around the country at various venues, including the famed Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. Charlie writes, co-writes, produces, and performs his own material. "There are lots of ways to make your mark on the music world besides stardom. I'd like to think I have a contribution to make, and that I can have fun while I make it."
