  1. View the first three sessions on the CD-ROM (check it out from the library--from the reserves desk) or these same videos available in the content section on D2L.

  2. Then read the articles listed below.  You do not have to read through all the reference materials, but you may need them for scavenger hunt questions.

  3. Read from the McPherson book Getting it in Writing.

  4. Find the online articles and websites from the links below.  If the link takes you to an article, read it. If it takes you to the home page of a site, note it for scavenger hunts.  If it takes you to a list of references, bookmark it.

  5. After you have completed the readings and watched all the videos, both from this page and from the Inside Sessions videos (

  6. available on D2L) for sessions 1-3, you will be ready to take the first scavenger hunt. After you have gotten comfortable taking online quizzes, prepare yourself for Quiz #1 by reviewing the material and being able to locate information quickly--the quiz is timed. Allow yourself one uninterrupted hour to take the quiz.
